Welcome to Cloth & Twine

EXPLORE - LEARN - CREATE

About

Cloth & Twine (my studio/shop in historic downtown Edenton, North Carolina) is the place I created to bring people together who love to work with fiber. I love this type of work and like to reach people online as well. This online community will hopefully grow into something special. My goal is to share my knowledge, enthusiasm, and inspire others to do the same. I hope to weave/knit/felt together a community of like-minded fiber friends.

Social media has its place in our lives, but it doesn't give me enough control. I want you to have control over what you want to see or follow and not an algorithm. I hope this network will be it!

I love the composition and transience in nature, so I let her inspire me and use the things that are natural and organic in my creations.

I design and hand-make usable art mostly out of wool fibers, but any natural material will do. I like to incorporate silk, leather, beads, and even wood into my creations, but wool is always the main "ingredient."

Bringing my knowledge and skill to others has always been important to me. I used to teach Handwork at the Emerson Waldorf School in Chapel Hill, was featured in a segment on WRAL Smart Start Kids, was published in the LIVING CRAFTS magazine, and made it to the OUR MAGAZINE group of finalists for the "MADE in NC Award".
